kid_at_heart asked:
Are there any advantages to commuting to college besides saving money on room and board? There seems to be so many disadvantages, but that’s what I’m doing so I need something to look forward to.
*And please, don’t tell me not to do it. I am and there’s nothing I can do about it. My family and I can’t afford for me to be a resident.

I’m currently a college student who has an apartment on campus, next semester I will return to commuting because I like it better. Are there any other ppl who actual prefer commuting to college, for reasons besides the monetary savings or am I one in a handful?
I don’t go to a community college, I go to Rutgers in New Jersey.
And I’m not a loser, I like to party, but I prefer to come back home every night after spending the day on campus

Commuting students. At a well-known university, 1/4 of the undergraduate students commute, and 1/3 of the graduate students commute. 1/10 of the undergraduate students drive more than 40 miles daily, and 1/6 of the graduate students drive more than 40 miles daily. If there are twice as many undergraduate students as there are graduate students, then what fraction of the commuters drive more than 40 miles daily?
