I want something that I can take on the highway and on dirt roads. I don’t intend to do any MAJOR offroading I just want something I can be a little more rugged with. I would also use it for commuting to work though. I want something that is cheap, reliable, not expensive to maintain or repair, gets good gas milage (better than 25/gal), something not too old and that I won’t have to replace the transmission in etc. I’m intending to put a lot of miles on it. Any suggestions? Thanks for your help!
Sincerely
A girl in Need.

Is it enough to equal rent $ to live closer to your destination to begin with , or is it insignificant? (27 miles there and 27 back, so about 50 mile round trip, and 4 days per week)

Nancy J asked:

At this time I ride a 6 speed Huffy, girls bike. But my aunt wants me to (and I want to) ride across the U.S. with her in the year 2010. I also want to start commuting back and forth to work. So, I guess what I want is a miracle: a bike that I can commute, ride across the country, and still have fun little rides with my 10 year old. Oh, and I have arthritus in my back, so I don’t think a lean over bike will work on long distances.

My aunt rides an old 10-speed, and that’s what she’s going to take on our trip. We won’t be carrying much, as my Uncle and Son will be sagging for us across the U.S.

Oh, and it would be nice if I didn’t have to pay half my yearly salery to buy this bike. (-;

I’m taking my daughter and her friend to tryouts at American Ballet Theatre’s JKO School. We’re planning on flying into Newark and staying at the Newark Airport Howard Johnson hotel. Could someone give me some pointers on our mass-transit options for commuting into Manhattan, specifically to 890 Broadway?
thanks!

Hi! I was excited ’cause I found the enough mods and plugins to develope a ridiculous huge city, but now I have 90 000 population and almost 5 subway stations in every square, central avenues, and one way roads aside of my skyscrapers, and a lot of subway-ways but it still says the commute time is long! I also have an elevated highway with a lot of ramps. How to reduce commuting time? Thanks if help
