I have my second round of interviews coming up with a company in Chicago. I live in Merrillville, IN which is considered part of the greater Chicagoland region. If I get the job, I plan to probably take the South Shore to Millenium Station, and then the #20 (Madison, I think) bus over to where I work. I find Chicago a bit intimidating but I really like the city and the few times I’ve been there over the past few years have been good. Plus, you can’t beat Gino’s East or Giordano’s!
I forgot to mention… I would be driving to and parking at the East Chicago South Shore station.
The job will consist of 3D modeling and probably some 3D animation as well. These kinds of jobs are only found in larger cities… so Chicago is really my only option at the moment (at least until it becomes a possibility to move closer or to another city). As for money… at least my income will be combined with my boyfriend (hoping we get engaged soon) and I expect to make at the very least 45K or more a year. The train tickets- you can buy a monthly pass that saves you a lot of money. As for the bus, I haven’t looked into that possibility of a monthly pass with that yet.
