Are there any cost saving of commuting from northern NJ to lower manahttan using public transportations?

what I mean is I figured I would put about 13k less miles on my car per year which is what I do now and you save on gas but then you do have to pay for your bus fare and subway.

Commuting from the Upper West Side to the Upper East Side?

I’m currently living in the Financial District. Looking to possibly move to the UWS. Only problem is my wife works on the upper east side in the 80’s near Park Ave. Was wondering if anyone could tell me if the subway is the easiest way to go crosstown? I would think a bus would take forever. Anyone know what the route would be?

Do you think that someday they’ll build a commuter rail from Worcester to Fitchburg?

I live in Leominster and if I wanted to go to Worcester I would have to take the train from here to North Station, then the subway to South Station, and then another commuter rail to Worcester. It would probably take me like 5 hours! LOL!
